Arteries entwined to the spine
Creature not from near this world
Emanations emerge from the corpus

Even as the wick wanes
As twilight splits day and night in twain
Inspection sees impulse in the brain

The heart is indigo, the blood rich with copper
And salts of some alien biochemistry
Precipitate through the orifice
(How obsequious to a madman's hypothesis)

It rises up to echo a warning
Through ethereal levitational floating
“To the blade of mankind's blackness”
Before functions cease and it lays itself to rest.
