V nočnem hladu, gozdni tišini,
zbudi se spomin na pozabljene dni;
na zgodbe, ki nekdaj smo jim verjeli,
o gonji, ki tu se godi.
Kdo ve? Je še tu, še vedno nas čaka?
Pozaba je krhek ščit pred temo,
ko zopet zbudijo se, zopet lovijo
med mrakom in črno nočjo!

Konec zdaj je mirnih dni,
divja jaga se godi!

Divja jaga! Bleščijo se oči
in na nebu v daljavi grom grmi,
med drevesi razbija in rjovi,
divja jaga za večno naj lovi!
»Pravljice,« rekli so, »Mit!« se smejali,
razum jim resnice videt' ni dal;
še tisto so noč svojo zmoto spoznali,
od groze jim dih je zastal.
Koraki, na stotine, tisoče bitij,
v meglicah odmeva oddaljen šepet,
naenkrat pa trušč in slepeča bleščava
prineseta strah in trepet!

Lezi v grm in se skrij,
da te jaga ne dobi!

Divja jaga! Bleščijo se oči
in na nebu v daljavi grom grmi,
med drevesi razbija in rjovi,
divja jaga za večno naj lovi!

English translation:

WILD HUNT

In the cool of the night, the forest calm,
Awakes a memory of forgotten days,
Of stories we once believed in,
Of a chase that is happening here.

Who knows? Is it still here, still awaits us?
Oblivion is but a fragile shield against darkness,
When again they awake, again they hunt,
Between the dusk and the blackness of night.
Peaceful days have come to an end,
The Wild Hunt is upon us again!
The Wild Hunt! Eyes are shining bright,
And thunder rumbles in the sky,
Among the trees it pounds and roars,
The Wild Hunt, let them forever hunt!
"Fable," they told me, "Myth!" they laughed,
Their reason blinded them from the truth,
That very night they realized their error,
With terror their breath caught in their throats.

Footsteps, hundreds, thousands of beings,
A faint whisper echoes through the mists,
Suddenly tumult and a blinding flash,
Herald terror and fright!
Lie down in the bushes and hide,
So that the Hunt does not get you!
