Luke was cool and dendy, and though he didn't oughta

Luke he grew his hair long,
And he never shaved
Trying to be, he never bathed

Then in desperation he hid himself, down a well
But all thoes naughty women found him there
Attracted by the smell

Jake was mean and had a wife as cruel as can be
Who Luke had spurned because he learned how mean
Old Jake could be

So she told old Jake to go down to the bar
And fetch back Luke's head in an old whiskey jar
Word got round town and just like a parade
All the women came, they came out to Luke's aid
Oh, they strung up old Jake, and they carried Luke high
The last words Luke said was: "What a way to die!"
