Memoir Walking down the boulevard I stepped through puddles in the dark I turned the corner I crossed the lot Down through the park now let’s not get shot Down through the laundry into the back I walked into a buddy smoking a blunt I hit it twice then I gave it back I walked away in smoke’s dense cloud I heard a whistle I whistled back Not sure if it was a bird or just some broad on crack I spared a quarter I rolled a stoag I lit it up and gave that bum a smoke Down by the bay I hopped a boat It looked likea dragon but it might’ve just been all the coke I sailed away for hours two only to dock in New York City’s Lou
And now I’m all alone, yet so strong, yeah nothing brings me down, I will forever stand my ground, Because I’m not at all alone and together we are strong, yeah, nothing brings us down, we will forever stand our ground
Fell in the water when the ship hit the shore I scraped my shins up on the reef’s raw decor, Took all my clothes off and I went for a run Only to find myself on the other side and There was the ocean with the waves wide and vast New Jersey at my right and to the left long beach lit up by the boardwalk’s Long stretch of park lights lit up by the cop cars Speeding down the boards as if they’re all alone But they’re not alone And so strong, yeah they try to bring us down
