The dunes stretched out towards the horizon,
that thin line invisibly separating the sky and the sand.
The Sun descended among the waves of heat
of heat which lifted up from the shining sand
on the other side
the stars had already began to light the night sky.

Nomads off in the distance can see desert night
the only green and thriving splash of their life

which the darkness had taken away the light.

Water and rest now dominated
among the shadows of the nightfall
there among the lights of the roof
of the world and sand still
warm from the toils of the day now over.
Water still returns to flow along that dry bed
left arid for so long
waiting for another desert night to come.
