The earth sat in space alone
Around the sun it revolved
Along spacetime's curvature
Out of black theia appeared
Into the earth it veered
Collision course into dust
The moon was born from parts of earth's crust

Now the moon rises above
The earth's horizon
The light shines down into our eyes
As we gaze into the sky
Without the moon
The earth would be doomed
No lights, no tides, no humans
No ebb and flow of the oceans
Lunar rising

The moon will dance
Into space
