Just "random acts of violence"-another lie for our brain to be filled
So many empty minds are filled with the television's view of reality
When half-truths and misguided focus are the common ground for our society

Plotted like a soap opera who will be the victim next?
Tell us about the weather, drugs, sports, and death
Creating life in thirty minute segments
In the overall picture what's shown is insignificant

Are we supposed to go on thinking this is the way it's supposed to be?
That we can change things in ways we don't always see
"A baby found in a dumpster today...
A man shot dead in his home...
AIDS takes another dying victim...
Retired man found dead- starving and alone"

How much time is spent on the crisis of the day
That some celebrity may go to jail and lose their pay

Answers to their problems are none of their concern
Only misleading the blind who have nowhere else to turn
Follow the chain of hypocrisy to their unnameable source
Then realize their motives and why they won't recourse

Reality is too gruesome of a program that people would turn away
Because all these years people have been lead astray
Into thinking life is just like it is on TV
Unplug your set, reset your mind, and question the way things seem to be
