Opening
Not a soul among these ruins,
Chapel walls of stone like cracked upon the hallowed ground.
Deep within a wood desolate,
The church bells toll.
Verse
Long the road I have tread the years of my life,
Of mist and moonlight,
The grave and the immortal hunger,
I’m damned on this earth,
I have wandered in solitude,
Lifetimes slipping away.
Now at the end of all I’ve found from a time,
The spring of my life,
A vision of grandeur once sacred, divine,
Alas fallen, a victim derelict of time.
Weary I lay my head.
Chorus
Now, time has come, (time for the end)
For a preternatural life’s end.
(on this day) Here, on this day of warth a wandering damned finds it’s final tomb.
All washed away, (all lost in time)
As the rain weathers the stone, years and
(centuries) centuries forgotten, lost forever.
As it was, it shall be.
Fast verse
The silence is broken, distant the sound, a call in the night.
An ominous drone, increasing in strength, from earthly maw.
The rolling thunder, the trumpet now sounds, a force drawing near.
It’s the voices of hell’s dead.
Fast Bridge
Rising from their graves, the rumbling earth is split.
Forsaking their tombs the dead have finally come to take me.
The churchyard bells herald their coming, triggered by infernal winds,
As sanguine rain is swept across the land, skies fall.
Fast verse 2
The low hanging clouds, now blackened and burnt, they part like the seas.
Descending on high, wicked cavalcade, reaping time has come.
Demonic ensemble draped in shadow cast the world in gloom.
Countless souls claimed in gripping hands.
Fast bridge 2
Centuries spent alone, a life anonymous.
As this hellbound soul is claimed, those lifetimes rendered wasted.
For in time as moments pass into a memory, then are lost,
All things shall be as if they never were:
My requiem.
Opening (alt)
The last bell tolls.
