Resplendent arc of the twilight glowed & burned in gaps of the snow-draped boughs
There in the umbra of skeletal pines, blood of the matriarch married the ice
As silence was marred by wolf & wind howl, tendrils of red ivy bloomed in the wounds
A nightside portal lined with rows of trembling flame Your sea of dusk so brilliantly alight
I contemplated upon sere branches of the tree, while the progenitor tore jaws through me
As shades of carrion birds drank deep from a basin of mirrors…
Torchbearers dripped their blaze into the cold void below
