by race ,language, creed or god

the joy, the rapture, so trivial, so arbitrary
caged behind borders
to some it seems that means they're free

no predrawn compulsions
choose your side from what you see
your allies those whom you believe in
eyes and mind torn open

a bonfire of flags results in unity
the colours lost the bridges burnt
our choices freed
questioning the nation-dream they've sold to us
divided, conquered, held apart
