Since 1955, the achievements of the US and the USSR in rocket science allowed launching artificial satellites. As a result, it gave an opportunity to start active space exploration.
The Space Age was beginning… There was a success in the creation of space stations and probes for the complex research of the planets of the Solar System. Also, there were first attempts of the transmission of interstellar messages from humanity to possible intelligent creatures outside of the Solar System.
At the beginning of 1960, the first teams of astronauts were gathered and the first spacecraft were designed. Successful tests of rocket vehicles with spaceships were carried on.
In a year, the USSR launches the spacecraft “Vostok-1” boarded with the first man, who had ever flown to the Earth's orbit. This man was an astronaut Yuri Gagarin.
Each year the spaceships were improving. New tasks were being solved and new researches were carried on.
In 1964, the spacecraft “Voskhod 2” was modified and given into the control of the crew that consisted of Pavel Belyaev, the captain, and Alexei Leonov, the pilot, with the aim of sending an astronaut to outer space.
