Back at the town, alone at a bar, Charlotte has already sunk much of her earnings into getting drunk as she contemplates whether she'll continue being a hunter or retire. Her father's face again flashes in her mind, with his long black hair and his bright green eyes, which cloud over with disappointment as he bows his head and walks away. This is replaced by the image of Count Byron dying in her arms. She did what she had to do and didn't betray her father's legacy. But she knows she can no longer be a hunter. Not with such a weak emotional state. So the next morning, she meets with the mayor to buy a house in the town. And never hunt again.
