"This would be the mean song that I used to propel the fight between At War With Shadows and Harlow from VH1's bands on the run. These lyrics are somewhat loosely based on the Gorilla Biscuits song "New Direction", hence the title of the song. It's about how Hardcore seems to be heading toward the wrong direction where it's not about music or having fun anymore. It's about sounding like the fucking flavor of the month and trying to be the next big thing. Now I don't care if you get big by doing what you're doing, but when you just start a band to sound like some other shitty band, you're being an asshole. It's not just bands either. Hardcore has become this huge monster that's now about national tours and booking agents and large guarantees, so now there's a bunch of kids just getting into the scene who are seeing this shit take place and they think it's all hunky dorey. So all these new kids start acting like pricks because they don't know any better. So they go to Hellfest, then they want to be the big promoter so they book "Johnny Hardcore's Moshmania Fest" in their mom's backyard with all these huge bands they cant pay because they all have huge guarantees and three people show up and it's not Johnny Hardcores fault really. It's everybody's fault for being such a dumbass in the first place."
