In truth and in spite

When I write about my good days
That feeling slips away
I feel like a fake
I feel so cliche

What's easier
Faking what I'm feeling
Or telling the truth

I'm so eager
To become self healing
Blame it on my youth
(Just like you always do)

The only things that resonate
Are what I'll communicate
Only my sadness
Only my vastness

On the surface I look depressed
I'll tell that story best
But i've never been better
I'm wearing my favorite sweater

I say this because
You're probably worried
But Ipromise I'm fine!

I'm not gonna write
Something I might
Never have liked

Writings my therapy
So blame it on me
For being a teen
(It's just cause I'm a teen)

I'll sing with clarity
But you'll disagree
You'll say it's my screen
(It's not my screen, I'm gonna scream)
