In famine and sorrow
You keep us safe
In war and plague
Your peace will remain

In darkness and night
You show us the way
Defeated is death
Be praised Almighty

Before this world and light began
Word and Spirit dwelled beyond this realm
Before time and space
You knew our fate, fallen state
Created to be Imago Dei
To live in honor not in shame

From ancient times we have heard
Your warnings and call
So kingdoms rise and fall
Don't banish us from your grace
Though we fail to follow your way
In God alone we put our faith

Before this world and light
Word and Spirit dwelled beyond this realm
Before time and space
You knew our fate, fallen state
We are given firstborn right
If cleansed by the Christ,
Created to be Imago Dei
We enter His kingdom new life reborn
